Commercialising the Turb-O-Truss™

As the Turb-O-Truss™ has been fully tested by the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Pretoria, and limiting span tables have been developed, the patented Turb-O-Truss™ system is now ready to be commercialised through a suitable vendor, who cares enough about creating jobs, whilst also having a profit motive for its shareholders. Whereas Ralph, as the inventor and patent holder can be a mentor, trainer and advisor to the promotion of the Turb-O-Truss™, it is of great importance that a suitable vendor organisation appoints its own product champion, who will drive the product both in terms of internal processes and planning as well as marketing with builders of mass housing and possible SMME franchises in rural and urban areas. Cost Comparison
Due to the fact that the Turb-O-Truss™ does not attract high direct or indirect costs, the price of the final product is very competitive when compared to any other truss solution whilst achieving the goal of generating job opportunities for previously disadvantaged people.

Earning power of the workers
It is conservatively expected that a team of 3 labourers plus one semi-skilled (to be trained by me) plate positioner should assemble 30 trusses per day, and earning:

Each labourer: R 3.00 x 30 Trusses x 20 days per month = R 1800.00 per month
Team-Leader: R 4.00 x 30 Trusses x 20 days per month = R 2400.00 per month

One team should therefore be able to produce 600 trusses per month (equal to 50 roofs for low-cost housing) based on a 5-day working week. Should the building contractor require more production, he doubles or trebles the teams to meet his particular production requirements.(back)
